Hans Boon is a Managing Consultant at Aquaculture Experience, an independent advisory firm he founded in 2008. He specializes in aquafeed formulation, ingredient sourcing, additive business development, due diligence, market studies, and R&D projects across the aquaculture value chain.
Hans holds a Master’s degree in Biology from Wageningen University and Research. He began his career as a biological and technical supervisor in eel farming before spending nearly two decades (1989–2008) with the aquafeed division of Provimi Group (now part of BioMar and Cargill).
With over 35 years of industry experience, Hans brings deep technical and commercial expertise to aquaculture and aquafeed development globally.

Eric De Muylder has nearly 40 years of experience in aquafeed formulation. He is the founder of CreveTec, which operates a shrimp farm with a hatchery and feed research station in Belgium.
Eric has supported several shrimp farming projects and specializes in low- or zero-water exchange systems using biofloc technology. He has been involved in multiple fish and shrimp feed projects across countries including Seychelles, Madagascar, Iran, Suriname, Turkey, Armenia, India, Thailand, and Vietnam.
He has also developed a range of hatchery and broodstock feeds, produced in Belgium primarily for export. At his feed research station, more than 50 trials have been conducted on various additives and ingredients, several of which have been published.
Eric remains active as a consultant in aquafeed formulation and production, biofloc farming, and hatchery operations.

Terence Hovvels is a seasoned professional in the aqua feed industry, currently serving as an Application and Technology Engineer at ANDRITZ Feed and Biofuel. With a strong foundation in mechanical engineering and over a decade of hands-on experience, Terry brings a practical, results-driven approach to feed production and process optimization.
His career spans key roles where he led maintenance and improvement initiatives, and earlier as a Maintenance Engineer. Terry’s expertise lies in streamlining operations, enhancing equipment reliability, and implementing sustainable feed technologies. His background also includes extensive mechanical work, which underpins his deep understanding of machinery and production systems.
Known for his ability to translate technical knowledge into actionable training, Terry has supported teams in developing operational competencies and improving plant performance. His pragmatic style and commitment to continuous improvement make him a valuable asset in both technical and strategic aquafeed environments.
Jan Jonkers, Jan Jonkers Consultancy for Buhler, Swittzerland

Jan Jonkers graduated from Wageningen University in 1996 with a degree in Bioprocess Engineering. He began his career as a Researcher at the Food Extrusion group of the Agrotechnological Research Institute and later worked as a Scientist in Food Production at Danone Research, both in the Netherlands.
In 2003, he joined Skretting’s Aquaculture Research Centre in Norway as a Researcher in Feed Processing and Technology. From 2008 to 2021, he led the Feed Production R&D department at Skretting ARC, overseeing an international team of researchers and process engineers, managing a research and development portfolio focused on fish and shrimp feeds, and leading an optimisation programme across 28 aquafeed production plants worldwide.
In 2022, Jan started his own consultancy company, offering expert advice on aqua feed processing and production technology.

Sirri Kayhan is Country Market Lead for Türkiye and Aquaculture Lead for Europe at USSEC, with over 30 years of experience in the aquafeed and aquaculture industries. A graduate of the University of Ankara in aquaculture and agriculture engineering, he began his career in feed production and formulation before founding YemSis, a feed formulation software business and Brill distributor across Turkey, the Middle East, and North Africa.
At USSEC, Sirri develops and leads programs to promote U.S. soybean products and strengthen market adoption across Turkey and Europe. He works closely with feed and aquaculture companies on formulation optimization, ingredient utilization, and profitability improvement. He has organized and delivered over 50 technical workshops and supports industry engagement, feeding trials, and cross-regional collaboration across the aquaculture value chain.

Liang Liu holds a Master’s degree in Feed Manufacturing Technology from the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU), Norway. Since 2013, he has been engaged in aquaculture product development and management. He currently serves as Global Project Manager in KEMIN, collaborating closely with aquafeed manufacturers to develop and optimize nutrient efficiency strategies. His work primarily addresses alternative protein and lipid efficiency, with the objective of improving feed performance and supporting sustainable aquaculture production.

With over 12 years of experience in the feed and food industry, William has developed a strong technical and practical understanding of manufacturing processes, with particular expertise in extrusion from raw material selection through to final product quality. His experience and career spans both operational and strategic roles, giving Will a well-rounded perspective on production efficiency and performance.
Will has a solid foundation in nutrition, enabling him to understand how formulation and processing interact to influence product outcomes. Throughout his career, he has been heavily involved in process optimisation and continuous improvement initiatives, helping to enhance efficiency, consistency, and overall plant performance.
In addition, he is experienced in delivering process training, supporting teams in building technical capability, and applying best practices on site. he is especially passionate about sharing knowledge and driving improvements that deliver measurable results.
